Chapel Hill is an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church. The word “independent” means the church patterns itself after the New Testament example and stands alone under the authority of the scriptures. The word “Fundamental” means the Baptist church uses the New Testament strictly as its authority for faith (doctrine) and practice. However, we do not ignore the Old Testament, as it is there for our learning as well.
Chapel Hill currently offers an adult Sunday school class, a teen Sunday school class, and 2 children’s Sunday school classes on Sunday mornings at 10 AM. We offer services at 11 AM and 6PM on Sundays, and at 7 PM on Wednesday nights. Childrens’ Church is available during the 11 AM service.
We have complimentary “country breakfast” at 8 AM on the first Sunday of each month and “dinner-on-the-ground” following the 11 AM service once each quarter. We have a nursery and it is available for each of the services.
We offer traditional services with Brother Matthew leading the congregation in singing hymns and Sister Jackie and Sister Paula accompanying him on the marimba and piano. We also enjoy members occasionally singing Southern Gospel specials.
We love the classics and believe that there is still a place for their honesty and simplicity in today’s contemporary Christian world. Sometimes there is nothing else like “Amazing Grace” or “I’ll Fly Away” to convey our thankfulness to God and prepare the congregation for the teaching of God’s Word.
In addition to our sanctuary, we have a fellowship hall in the back with a nursery and additional rooms for classes or child care. Also, we have expanded to a separate room for our teen Sunday school and services.
We are definitely not a large mega-church. We pride ourselves on being a smaller, country church. But as we grow we will expand to meet the congregation’s needs while keeping the closeness of a smaller congregation.
*UPDATE* Due to God’s blessing of growth in our church, we have broken ground ground on an expansion to the church. We are believing to be finished by mid 2016. It will give us more class rooms, larger restrooms and a multi-purpose room twice the size of our current sanctuary. Please pray with us that we are able to do this and expand the church to meet the needs of God’s people. If you feel led to make a donation towards God’s work, please click here.
